PharmaTeam is an information system for support and monitoring of activities of medical representatives on the field, data entry and statistical processing with report generation for management of pharmaceutical company.
Basic features and requirements
o Client – Server application
IS consists of two components. Basic server application is installed at a local office and connects to local data base server where gathered data for all medical representatives or data entered locally is stored. Client application is installed on notebooks of medical representatives and has a local database with data only relevant for this medical representative.
o Communication
System supports two way data transfer / synchronization of data between server application and client application in local area network. PharmaTeamNet version additionally enables data exchange from remote location by means of GPRS or WAN connection. It enables remote synchronization and later review and report generation with server application in local office.
o Simplicity of use
It is only necessary to connect medical representative PC to LAN or activate WAN connection (for PharmaTeamNet) and choose option “synchronize”. All gathered data from last synchronization till now is automatically transferred to central database server. It is not necessary to manually prepare and format data or exchange it over USB/floppy/email. Application itself requires only basic computer skills with one day training.
o Security aspect
Special attention is dedicated to security aspect with data access only for authorization with correct username and password. Also, medical representative laptop holds only data gathered by a specific representative, not the data from all representatives.
o Hardware, software and database requirements
Client and server application use MSSQL Express edition but is also compatible with other databases. All other hardware requirements and limitations apply for chosen database (1 GHz CPU, 512MB or more). Current number of clients and server application is satisfied with chosen database. Application is developed for Microsoft Windows XP SP2 OS and is also compatible with Vista OS.
